WolFang Digital welcomes Mr. Ong Kok Pai from Brunei, into our Digital Film Making Course.
Pai will be studying with us from March until May 2012. According to Pai, he has traveled all this way to Malaysia to attend our course so he can start up his own film making studio back home.
In the short time that Pai has been with us (2 weeks and counting), we have brought him to Guiness Anchor Berhad to see how we set up for a green screen shoot and interview session for Accenture Malaysia. We took him to Pricewaterhouse Coopers to attend our on-location Edius film editing class.
We also taught Pai how to use the Glidecam. He practiced with our student, Mr. Zahariz, a lecturer who plans to use his newly acquired skills when traveling Iceland.
We also took Pai to meet up with Graphics Vision who are the representatives of Grass Valley in Malaysia. Here, he picked up more tips on using Edius from Jonathan Yee, another certified Edius trainer. This further sharpened Pai’s skills in film editing.
Pai also got to meet with Vshing, an expert in Datavideo video switchers. Pai was also treated to the latest technology in green screen with Reflecmedia‘s portable chroma key system. What a big contrast to the traditional green screen setup he saw earlier.
Towards the weekend, we took Pai to the Asia-pacific Broadcaster’s Union to meet up with our friends Sony Malaysia and Tegas Broadcast & Multimedia. We thank Sony for this invitation. It gives Pai a chance to see the varied and wonderful world of broadcasting.
We really pamper our students with experience and technical know-how. At ABU, Pai was given a personalized demonstration of the Steadicam Zephyr from Wesley Ong, himself a certified Steadicam operator.
In WolFang Digital, our Digital Film Making course provide our students with the experience of the real world of film making, this is not just a classroom, this is the real deal.
All these industry exposure is our promise to our Digital Film Making Course students. Pai has been very busy getting intimate with film making, and well on his way to achieving his dream of setting up his own studio!
