Our client, the famous German corporation Bosch, famous for its wide range of power tools, security systems and audio solutions, called on us for our videography services.

Bosch wanted us to document the entire installation process, which included interviews with its engineering and management team. This being a HDSLR production, the H4N was deployed with an Audio Technica shotgun mic for audio recording.

Bosch was about to install a new set of audio system for the National Mosque. The older setup will be taken down and replaced with Bosch’s more advanced custom designed system.

Film editing was done with the excellent Edius 6. There were no issues with audio synching as the nudge command helped us to match the H4N recorded sound with HDSLR capture perfectly.
Plural Eyes is now available for Edius to easily synch up audio but we didn’t feel the need to use it. You can find the plugin here: Singular Plural Eyes for Edius 6

We visited the National Mosque over a 3 months period to film the installation. We managed to capture some of its intricate moorish architecture. It was interesting to be filming on Friday and see worshipers trickle in and finally fill the entire mosque to the brim.

Bosch wanted the film in Bahasa Malaysia with English subtitles. They chose voice over talent and news presenter Fazlyn.

The challenges of shooting in the mosque was their regulation that we leave our shoes behind. We went everywhere in socks, including the washroom, which was very damp! Its harder to shoot outside than inside the mosque. At the time, the sky was devoid of clouds, making our outdoor scenes less dramatic. We had to add the clouds using visual effects.

As mentioned in the film, Bosch faced many acoustic challenges due mainly to the building’s architecture. Bosch’s engineers used advanced software to direct the soundwaves of the speakers towards worshippers. It was all programmable.

The design of the speakers enable it to blend naturally the mosque's architecture.

It was nice to see the speakers finally set up. They were encased in an elegant steel enclosure which blended very well with the existing architecture.

Our client Bosch was so pleased with the results that they invested in another version of the video in English. They chose the soothing maternal voice of Vicky Gunther for the English version. This video is being used in their trade shows and exhibitions.
